Module 23 · Command and up

Signed webhooks today, for orders, the menu and what has sold out.

Signed webhooks, included in Command and an add-on on Tab and Shift: your own systems are told when an order is settled, when the menu changes and when a dish sells out, without anybody exporting a spreadsheet. A read API with keys is coming soon.

How it works

Register, verify, receive.

Register an addressIn Setup, under Partner access: an https address and the events it wants. The secret is shown once.
Check the signatureEvery event carries a signature made with that secret, so your server can refuse anything else.
Receive the eventsSettled orders with their lines and totals, menu changes and sold-out dishes, within about a minute.

What is in it

Integrations and API, feature by feature.

A settled order arrives in dirhams with its VAT and invoice number, the same figures the tax invoice carries.

Order settled

A paid bill at any of your outlets, on any channel, with its lines, VAT, tip and invoice number. Never guest or staff details.

Retried

An event that is not answered is tried again six times over the next day, and every delivery is listed with its result.

Retried

Menu and availability

When a dish, a price or an option changes, and which dishes sold out or came back.

Signed

Each event is signed with a secret shown once, so your server can check it came from delEat.

In your hands

Setup lists every endpoint. Switch one off, remove it or send it a test event.

Read API Coming soon

Keys that read orders and reports are not on sale yet. Today every report exports to CSV.

Questions it answers

The four you will ask it first.

  • Which endpoints are registered, and which events does each one get?
  • What does a settled order look like when it arrives?
  • Which deliveries failed this week, and why?
  • Which endpoint was switched off, and when?

Before you believe it

The three questions everyone asks.

What is live today?

Webhooks. Your server is sent a signed event when an order is settled, when the menu changes and when a dish sells out or comes back. A read API with keys is coming soon.

How do I know an event really came from delEat?

Every event is signed with a secret only your endpoint holds. Check the signature, and use the event id so a retried event is only acted on once.

What if my server is down?

The event is tried again six times over the next day, the same body each time. An endpoint that fails for three days is switched off until you switch it back on.
