Module 46 · Command and up

A budget for every P&L line, and a sales forecast for every day.

Set the month's budget line by line and the P&L shows how far off it you are. A daily forecast from your own sales puts labour % under each day on the roster.

How it works

Plan it, forecast it, compare it.

Set the budgetType each line, copy last month, or copy a month's actuals moved by a percentage.
Forecast and rosterEach day gets a forecast from past sales, and the roster shows labour % against it.
Read the varianceThe P&L, the variance report and the dashboard card show budget beside actual.

What is in it

Budgets, feature by feature.

The budget lines are the P&L's own, with rent, DEWA and chiller each on a line of their own, in dirhams ex VAT.

Budget per month

A figure per outlet, per month, for each line the P&L prints. Gross and operating profit are worked out, never typed.

Variance report

Budget against actual by line, in AED and per cent, with a verdict on each line and a CSV.

Variance report

Copy to start

Copy last month, or copy a month's actuals moved up or down by a percentage, then edit any line.

Variance on the P&L

The P&L gains Budget and Variance columns when the month has a budget. Positive is always favourable.

Labour % on the roster

Under each day on the roster: the forecast, and rostered cost as a share of it, with anyone without pay counted.

Daily sales forecast

Each day's net sales ex VAT: the median of the same weekday over the last 8 weeks, or anywhere from 4 to 26.

Overrides with a reason

Set a day's forecast by hand for a festival or a mall event. The computed figure stays visible beside it.

Questions it answers

The four you will ask it first.

  • Are we ahead of budget this month?
  • What is Friday's forecast at Business Bay?
  • Which cost lines are over budget?
  • What is labour % on next week's roster?

Before you believe it

The three questions everyone asks.

Where does the forecast come from?

Your own sales: the median of the same weekday over the last eight completed weeks. Today and later days never feed it.

Does every manager see the cost lines in the variance?

No. Cost lines need access to financial reports. Without it the variance shows the revenue line only.

Will the dashboard show where the month is heading?

Yes. The month-to-date card shows revenue against budget so far, and actuals plus each remaining day's forecast.
