Module 01 · Every plan

The till that opens on the room, not an empty basket.

The till opens on the dining room, not an empty basket, the section, the tables, what each one is running and how long it has been sitting. That is how the floor actually works, so that is where the screen starts.

How it works

Open, ring, settle.

  1. A plated dish being set down for two guests at a tableOn a tablet
    01Open on the room

The screen starts on the section and its tables, not on an empty basket.

  2. A hand at a counter machine during serviceOn a tablet
    02Ring it with the rules

Modifier groups carry min and max, so choose two of five is the till’s job and not the waiter’s.

  3. A cash-up count at closeOn a tablet
    03Settle on one sheet

Eight tender types, a bill split by item or evenly with a receipt for each part, and fils allocated so the parts add back to the whole.

What is in it

Point of sale, feature by feature.

In the UAE the till runs in Arabic, right to left, as well as English, and receipts can print their headings in Arabic beside the English. Prices carry VAT inside them, and the business day closes at 02:00, when service here actually ends.

Three service types

Dine-in, takeaway and delivery, each with its own flow on the one till.

Void with a reason

Per-line void, reason required, and optionally a supervisor PIN before it goes through. The PIN approval needs a connection to the server.

Modifier groups

Min–max rules, so "choose 2 of 5" is enforced at the till instead of remembered by the waiter.

Multi-tender

Customise after the fact

A line can take a note or an option after it is rung, spice-level presets included.

Covers

Prompted on seating. A cover count can be required before an order is sent, and it is the basis of average-per-cover.

Covers

Split bills

Equally or by item, and each part gets its own receipt. Fils are allocated so the parts always add back to the whole.

The number of times a receipt can be reprinted is limited.

Arabic, right to left

The till runs in Arabic, and so do the kitchen screen, the floor, shifts, reservations, orders and clock-in. Receipts can print their headings in Arabic beside the English.

Dish photos

Optional on the tile, the fastest way to train a new waiter on a 359-item menu.

Courses at the till Coming soon

Courses are set up per outlet. Marking a line as a starter or a main at the till, so the kitchen ticket says which, is not in the product yet.

In motion

The till, through one order.

Before you believe it

The two questions everyone asks.

Does it work on the hardware we already own?

A tablet or touch screen with a browser. In Chrome the till prints straight to USB and Bluetooth thermal printers; on an iPad it uses the browser’s print window.

How long does a new server take to learn it?

One shift, usually. The screen opens on the room and shows dish photos, so there is nothing to memorise.
