Module 41 · Shift and up

Your own riders, their deliveries and the cash they bring back, reconciled.

An outlet with its own riders hands over a bag, the rider comes back with cash, and the cash goes in the drawer. delEat records all three, so the drawer and the riders agree at the end of the shift.

How it works

Assign it, deliver it, count the cash in.

AssignGive each of today's own delivery orders to an active rider, from the board or the order book.
DeliverMark it out and delivered. An unpaid order is settled on Cash on delivery as it is handed over.
SettleCount what each rider hands over into the open shift. Cash due, cash received and any shortfall are kept.

What is in it

Own riders, feature by feature.

Every dirham a rider brings back is counted into the open shift, and any shortfall is shown against the rider, not buried.

Delivery board

Today's own delivery orders in three lists: to assign, with riders, and done today, refreshed every fifteen seconds.

Cash on delivery

An unpaid order is settled on the Cash on delivery tender when it is handed over. A cashier cannot close a counter sale on it.

Assign a rider

Pick an active rider from the board or the order book. One live run per order, and a rider only gets their own outlet's orders.

Out and delivered

Out for delivery and Delivered stamp the order itself, so the guest's status page moves with the rider.

Deliveries by rider

Runs, delivered, not delivered, average minutes on the road, COD collected and cash settled for each rider, with a CSV.

Not delivered

A failed or returned run needs a reason. An unpaid order is cancelled and the food goes back to stock or to waste, as the reason says.

Not delivered

Riders' cash

Under the drawer on the Shift screen: each rider's delivered runs, the cash due, and what was counted in, with any shortfall.

Riders' cash

Questions it answers

The four you will ask it first.

  • How much cash is still with the riders?
  • Which rider came back short this week?
  • What is the average time from leaving to handing over?
  • How many deliveries failed yesterday, and why?

Before you believe it

The three questions everyone asks.

Can my riders take aggregator orders?

No. A delivery platform's order goes with the platform's rider. This is for the outlet's own phone and online delivery orders.

What if a rider hands in less than was due?

The settlement keeps cash due and cash received, and the shortfall shows on the Shift screen and in the report. The drawer's own variance is untouched.

Can a rider take a card payment at the door?

No, not yet. Today a payment at the door is cash. Orders already paid online or at the counter go out with nothing to collect.
